Carrying Bicycles (Again!)

$

Prior to purchasing my Berlingo Multispace (10-plate XTR 110PS) just a month ago, my research told me that my bikes would go in without taking wheels off but I wasn't at all sure how best to secure them. Now after a few trials and errors I have a good solution for 2 bikes and thought this might be interesting for other existing or prospective owners. I'm still investigating securing a 3rd and 4th bike but that's not really a priority for me.

With respective rear seats removed I'm strapping the rear wheel rim to the forward-most seat anchor bar, the front wheel rim to the rear load-space cargo anchor point, and looping a strap through the upper rear seat-belt anchor and around the top-tube.

As you can see from the pictures there is still masses of space for other luggage and/or the middle rear seat if required.

My bikes are "medium" (M) frame size (53/54cm seat-tube), a large (L) or extra-large (XL) will probably require the rear-wheel to slide up beside the front seat.

The webbing straps are made up from 15mm polyester webbing, with "tri-glide" and "ladder-lock" nylon buckles sourced via eBay and require no sewing.

Matt

Citroen Berlingo Multispace 1.8 petrol - temperature

Hi all

First time poster on the forum, but hoping someone can help with what I think is an issue with my 1998 Citroen Berlingo Multispace.

Van is absolutely fine when on the motorway or on a run.  Temperature doesn't even reach the solid midline.  However, when idling/sat in traffic the temperature gauge creeps up to the line above the solid midrange line (prob not explaining too well - see attached pic).  It never reaches the top temperature line though and has, touch wood, never overheated, though when sat in traffic you can often feel the heat coming up from underneath the van.  Have had it checked over by the garage and my mechanic reckons it's nothing to worry about.  The fan seems to kick in as needed (I think - I always hear it when I switch the van off as the fan runs on for a minute or two).

Any ideas as to what might be the cause?  All contributions/suggestions gratefully received.

Many thanks

I have a berlingo 2003 1.4I multispace was working 100%

When I turn the key to on the relay under the bonnet buzzes

Then when I turn it to start the car the buzzing stops but nothing happens

Then when I let the key return to on the relay starts buzzing again

So in my mind the relay is faulty and that means changing the circuit board but I would like any other suggestions as to what it could be or what could of caused it in the first place.

Could it be something else that's making the relay do this?

Thanks in advance

Hello Berlingo Forum! Not been on any forums and owners clubs for a few years now but I'm actually quite glad you guys are here! Had a bit of a lurk around, solved a few queries already so I thought I'd sign up. I've had my Berlingo van for over a year now, it's a 1.9d ex Severn Trent and she's got a fantastic rack

And this comes out at the weekend

Now despite having a bit of a soft spot for me workhorse, it's a bit of a mystery to me being my first French vehicle in the 16 years I've been driving. I did what I thought was enough research to know it's based on the same 306 that my mate had 2 of that were absolutely bomb proof. It is similar but I think they mixed up the metal bin and the food drawer when they made it. However, it carries what I need, starts every morning and does 500 miles to a tank every time without fail. So that's me and mine, now I'll go and find out what the bloody hell is wrong this time.

Cheers for having us!

After market stereo interface kit issue

Evening all

New the forum and berlingo's

Had my 52 plate 1.9d for 3 months now and decided a to upgrade the stereo as the one the previous owner had installed was naff. After reading various things about the correct way to wire up and Iso leads I opted for an interface kit. Installed the kit correctly and all was good, control stalk worked as it should. This was Friday, not been in the van all wkend until this morn, put the stereo face plate on turned it on, all was fine briefly. No music, looked down at the stereo and the volume was on 0. Turned the volume up on the stereo but a quick as I turned it up it went down to 0 again. I've turned it off, unplugged and sworn at it but no change. This is were I need your help, has anybody experienced this before or anything Simlar? Could it be a faulty control stalk? Faulty stereo? Any help or suggestions would be great.

Many thanks

Pole attachments?

Hello!

I'm new here and am a very happy (new) owner of a Berlingo Multispace, or 'beach mobile' as i'm calling it Big Grin  Currently its being used as a car but I have every intention of camping in it, getting curtains put up somehow and even possibly investing in a boot jump or at least a boot tent.

I have a question though - what are the mini doors above the windows (internally) for?  There are sort-of attacments inside and the dealership man said they are 'for attaching poles or something'.  There are 4 of them in total - 2 on either side. I've puzzled and wondered but am none the wiser! Huh

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Peace Cool

After 31 months of ownership from new the Berlingo is going.  I wouldn't hesitate to recommend one & we've loved ours.  However a van (Dispatch) was eventually needed for our activities & this has rendered the funtionality of the Berlingo largely redundant.  Due to the MPG of the van we also decided something more economical than the Berlingo would help offset the lower MPG of the van.  We're picking up a Cactus C4 next week.

If anyone is after a late 2013 (nov) Berlingo XTR in white with Modutop, traction control etc Telfords in Carlisle will have it.

I'm selling genuine citroen mats, boot liner, wind deflectors & load retainer/partition here.

Just a heads up. I've been getting a smell of fumes in my van when I'm stationary in traffic. Turns out I have a leaky injector. When I looked at the injector there is a build up a carbon around the base of it. Will be getting this fixed very soon.

No front armrests

Just bought a 2015 Berlingo VTR. As I drive out of the dealers I realise there are no armrests on the front seats. Otherwise the vehicle has everything I want including the price so I carried on.

But can I get and fit arm rests to my Berlingo?

I have a 2011 Berlingo with armrests if I could move them over. I don't want to just swap the seats as the trim is different - which has just given me the thought, can I change the seat and the seat trim?

Thanks
