Is the 850kg Bouncy when Empty?

$

Hi,

Thinking of getting an 850kg version of the latest shape Berlingo, mostly because I want the 90BHP engine and there seem to be more of the 850kg versions for sale than other versions with 90 engines.

Question is ... are they more bouncy at the rear end when empty than 600kg versions, or do they have graduated springs so the stiffer parts only come into play when loaded?

It will be used as a car effectively, so the 'bounciness' of the back end when empty is important.

Is there anyone who's driven both the 600 and 850 versions empty who could comment please?

Thanks

:-)

Dash board controls

Hi,
ive seen some pics and vids which show, what looks like manual buttons for stability controls etc placed where one of the dash's ' pods? ' cubby hole under air vent. Does anyone know which model or option this comes with?,
also i have on order an XTR, now some detais in e brochure say it will come with colour matched bumpers and elec folding mirrors, where as the show room brochure, gave little indication of either, but showed photos of xtr with plain black bumpers and that mirrors where heated and very little information.
Any one know?.

Overheating....I think?

Evening All,

Im a noob to the forum so you will have to bear with me.

Im driving along happily in my 2000 1.9D Berlingo when the temperature gauge drops and it starts to make a metallic rattle when applying the accelerator. I thought it was an issue with the coolant sensor but i dont think it is that as the temperature was showing fine until the rattle started.

I will say that it drives fine once cool and the rattle only starts when the   driving about for 30 mins or stuck in traffic. I read a previous post saying that it could be a sticky thermostat but i really want to ask you all your opinions before ripping the Berlingo apart.

Any help is greatly as its doing my nut in trying to find this fault. Im running out of places to go to try and replicate the fault.

USB socket

I have just collected my new Berlingo, 120bhp 6 speed xtr. It has most of the options, including satnav. I have been searching for the USB plug and cannot locate it. It has Bluetooth, so I assume that all connections are via that.
I ended up buying it from a dealer 200 miles away as I saved a fortune on the rrp and a small fortune from getting it locally, as it was a pre reg but still brand new. But I can't really pop back to check with them.
PS Very steep learning curve with new technology!

Hi Guys..Im still in the land of the living,
A quick update about "Old Smokie"...well...not any longer Im pleased to say, the smoking came from the lower rocker cover leaking oil into the exhaust manifold...new rocker cover fitted (gasket type this time) and problem solved once the manifold gasket was change..took about 4 weeks to burn out all the oil residue in the exhaust but its fine now...the deisle leaking on No 1 injector was a pin hole in the little rubber cap that fits on the leak of nipple..thats sorted and no missing at all...had a youngster take off the cam covers and check the belt...he found a sticker saying it had been changed 2000 miles earlier...same with water pump...Phew!...how lucky was I... Big Grin ...A big thanks to you guys who helped me through those issues..much appreciated,

My next task is to renew the Pin Bushes and Ball Joints on both sides..my Ball Joints are the bolt on type...Ive studied the manual about this job and it seem basicaly the same as the ball joints generaly (Just renewed all the front steering and suspension on my 96 Mercedes C280)...however Ive been told to watch for the driveshafts popping out??...obviously the wheel will be off and a trolly jack under the disc so how could the shaft pop out...fore warned and all that,

Regarding the Pin Bushes...Steel or Aluminium ??....personaly I would have thought steel but Ive never come across this before,
I will be going for Lemford parts from Eurocarparts....any advice most welcome chaps,
Regards as always,
Steve... Rolleyes

Hello to all.

I am considering purchasing and installing the following custom-made windows:

http://www.vanwindowsdirect.co.uk/view-p...in-privacy

I would like to have feedback here in the forum, from someone who has installed them...how difficult it is etc. Since I am living in a different country, I would have to install them myself...

Cheers.

Buyin advice needed

Hi all,

Im looking to get myself a Citroen Berlingo.

Ideally XTR version, however what engines I should look at and what to avoid ??

What I am after:

- year 09-current, but don't want to spend fortune on it (so probably something around years 10-11);
- ideally XTR version with three separate rear seats (unless some VTR's have three seats in the rear??);
- must have roof rails;
- will be using it for UK/euro trips: two of us plus to bicycles (roof mounted or on the back towing bar etc.);
- was thinking of stronger 110ps versions as I don't think 90ps will be strong enough fully loaded etc?

What do you recommend guys?

BTW,

Recently have come across with Cat D VTR version 2013 for approx. £4k with 32k on the clock. With I believe e-hdi (?) engine/gearbox ??
I have absolutely no idea/experience with this version.
How good/bad is it?
Reliable ?

Chris

Air con help needed please

Hi
I am new here so please excuse any errors in posting .
I have a Multispace desire with a problem with the air conditioning or rather with the compressor not activating in positions 3 and 4 on the blower .If I turn fan onto position 1 or 2 and switch the a/c on it works fine but if I increase the blower speed the compressor switches off until the fan is back in position 1 or 2 .  The system is fully gassed and working normally in every other way  and the heating and fan all work normally . I was wondering if it could be as simple as the fan switch itself but thought I would post this and see if any other members had any ideas  please .

Centre consol

Hi all just taken delivery of my 2012 Multispace VTR, one thing that's bugging me is at the front of the centre consol there are what looks like two shallow cup holders, and in the bottom of each one is a shinny bolt with a nut on it. My question is should there be a cup holder in these holes or something else which covers the bolts  Huh

Crunching noise when coasting at slow speed

Morning,

Hoping someone might be able to help me diagnose the following.  I have noticed a terrible graunching / crunching noise just before the vehicle stops.  It's only at very slow speeds < 4mph when I can hear it.  It's coming from the left passenger side.

Observations I would like to add so as to maybe help diagnosis.

1) I think the outer left CV joint gator may have gone as there is loads of grease all around the joint and on the hub.
2) No clicking or knocking noise when turning vehicle on full lock.

I jacked up the offending side and there is no lateral play in the wheel if I grab and try and move it.  I wanted to jack up the whole front and rotate the wheels, but some ingenious designer seems to have omitted a front jacking point! Rookie error.

The crunching does sound pretty horrid and am now worried about driving it.

Aircon condenser leaking :o(

Haven't been on the forum for ages, mainly due to our Berlingo (2006 1.6hdi) being such a trouble-free motor. Unfortunately the aircon condenser gas sprung a leak and needs replacing. Aircon guy reckons supply, fit, regas = £250+vat. Online condenser prices seem to be anywhere between around £60 and £120, but how does that price seem? Apparently there's a fair amount of work involved in fitting a replacement.
